Fraud Warning

It has come to our attention that individual(s) and/or organization(s) purporting to be representatives of Alamos Gold Inc. or its affiliates (“Alamos”) are contacting members of the public or using social media to offer fraudulent investment opportunities.

These investment schemes may involve offers to sell gold bullion, doré or coins to investors, offers to sell “memberships” in Alamos or to sell cryptocurrencies or digital coins supposedly backed by or associated with Alamos, or solicitation to use fictious investment or trading platforms using the Alamos logo and misrepresenting that they are acting on behalf of Alamos. The individual(s) and/or organization(s) behind these fake investment schemes use a variety of tactics and techniques to try to persuade potential investors that the investment opportunities are legitimate. These tactics and techniques include, but may not be limited to, using falsified documents such as certificates, agreements and fake government documents bearing Alamos’ logo, impersonation of and falsified signatures from Alamos executives and Board Members and other individuals who are not affiliated with Alamos at all, creating websites that contain content taken from Alamos’ website and often using URLs that contain Alamos’ domain name combined with a particular country name, or a shortform for that country name. These fraudulent schemes may involve the aggressive use of social media, such as, but not limited to, Facebook, to target members of the public, promising certain profits, or quick exponential returns on investment. In the past, these schemes have focused primarily on residents of Ghana and Pakistan.

Alamos is not involved in and has no affiliation with any of the investment schemes described in this warning. Alamos does not own or operate any trading platforms and does not deal in cryptocurrency or digital coins. You should not register for these platforms or invest any money using them. Alamos only operates in Canada and Mexico, and it only has offices in Toronto, Ontario; Lynn Lake, Manitoba; Hermosillo, Mexico; and Amsterdam, Netherlands. Alamos has not lent its name or logo to any form of investment platform.

If you are considering purchasing shares in Alamos or any other company, you may wish to consider consulting your broker or obtaining professional investment advice from a qualified investment advisor. If you have been targeted in any of the schemes described in this warning, you should contact your local law enforcement office or your local securities regulator.
